Halloween Driving Safety Tips

October brings a changing of the seasons and a return to holiday fun! We spend the month planning out the best costumes and getting ready for the big day. However, with October comes a change to wetter weather and more dangerous driving conditions.

Many of us have plans to visit family and friends, and some of us are planning out the routes for our road trips! Here are a few things you will want to consider before hitting the road and encountering the October roads ahead. Check this list out when packing up the Boo-Mobile and heading to the Poltergeist-Party!

Check Your Tires - Wet roads can be very dangerous if you don’t have tires that are up to the task! Check the tread of your tires and make sure it isn’t too worn, so they can adequately grip the road. Also, be sure to tackle the time to check your tire pressure and fill them to the proper PSI.

Check your fluid levels - Check the levels and health of the fluids in your vehicle. Your car runs on a complicated network of arteries and veins, just like we do! It is essential that the fluid coursing through them remains clean and properly filled.

Check Your Windshield Wiper Blades - Rain can come out of nowhere, and if your windshield wiper blades aren’t up to the task, it can leave you practically blinded; in a very dangerous situation! Test that they properly remove water and align correctly, replace them if they don’t work as they should.

Check Your Battery - Nothing is worse than stopping for gas halfway through your road trip and getting stuck with a dead battery; unable to get back on the road! Head to your local auto parts center, and they will be happy to check the health of your battery for you!

Winter Weather can creep up on us; October is the time to start considering winterizing your vehicle.
